On my husband’s and my fifth anniversary we were able to sneak away from the kids for the evening and have some time together. It was so romantic and peaceful… And then a disagreement turned into an epic argument. Continue reading
I stumbled into the bathroom for the countless time that day, stuck my finger far down my throat, and poured out all the calories I had just crammed in.
Sweat beaded my forehead and I wiped my mouth, washed my hands and looked at the watery eyed girl in the mirror. I hated her. I hated her habit that ruled her. As I stared at her, I realized the right corner of my mouth had begun to bleed again.
I wondered if people knew why I constantly had a scab on either corner of my mouth. Did it give me away? I touched the small drip of blood, rinsed my mouth and turned out of the bathroom…Continue reading
I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I’m always reading some educational/spiritual book and browsing Pinterest for blogs to help me learn how to be a more efficient, loving, organized, dedicated mom/wife/ sister/ friend, or whatever. Continue reading
Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future, your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean?’ Then you can tell them, ‘This is where the Israelites crossed the Jordan river on dry ground.’ For the Lord your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over. He did this so that all the nations of the earth might know the power of the Lord, and that you might fear the Lord your God forever.” Joshua 4: 21-24
Sometime ago I felt the Lord talking to me about the power of telling our children what He has done for us. Continue reading
A while ago I read the book “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan and I’m pretty sure I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to read it for just one page out of the 175.
On page 133 he writes “we are consumed by safety. Obsessed with it, actually…We’ve elevated safety to the neglect of whatever God’s best is…” Continue reading

Some people love pregnancy, but I do not! It’s long, uncomfortable and then it ends with painful labor.
But for some crazy reason I have done it all three times now.
With all three children, as labor approached I thought a lot about this verse:
“For the joy set before him he endured the cross” Hebrews 12:2 Continue reading
“But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
When you think of David in the Bible what do you think of? A giant slayer? The writer of Psalms? A king? “A man after God’s own heart”?
How about an Adulterer and a Murderer? Continue reading
A while ago I read Kris Vallotton’s book “Spirit Wars.” In it he shared a few stories about growing up with his grandpa. One story was his grandpa had gotten him a hammer and after a few days of nailing every nail in site he decided to build a go-kart.
To build this go-kart he used the wheels off the lawn mower and wood from the siding of the shop.Continue reading
